Phil Kellam getting slammed

Monday, August 21st, 2006
Phil Kellam, the Dem candidate in the 2nd Congressional district, is getting some pretty bad press out in Hampton Roads.

“That was pretty stupid of me.”

Thursday, August 17th, 2006
Ummm, ya’ think so, Al Weed?

Another fine Bearing Drift podcast

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006
You have to listen to the latest Bearing Drift podcast, with Rep. Jo Ann Davis. I love this comment by Squeaky: So let me get this straight: You went to the SOURCE for FACTS and let her quotes stand on her own without editorial input or editing?!??! Revolutionary! Who ever heard of such a thing. Indeed.

Intrigue in the 5th Congressional district

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006
I saw this earlier today, but didn’t get a chance to comment: Former Delegate Barnie Day Rejects Al Weed’s Nasty Letter Proposal Rocky Mount, VA August 14, 2006 Statement by Barnie Day on an Al Weed proposal to “plant” derogatory letters against Virgil Goode in the opinion pages of Virginia’s newspapers: “I am disgusted by a [...]

Silence of the Kellams

Thursday, August 10th, 2006
Will Phil Kellam ever take a stand on anything?

Yesterday morning group

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006
Norm has a recap of Rep. Thelma Drake’s talk to the Tuesday Morning Group. Sounds interesting.

Cynthia McKinney loses primary

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006
This makes me happier than just about anything else from the last couple of weeks. Cynthia McKinney has lost her primary in Georgia’s 4th Congressional district (in what Wizbang described as “The Crazy Woman Primary.” I really believe McKinney might be certifiably insane. Good riddance.

New Virginia blog

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006
This amuses me. Check out this new Virginia blog, The Wilting Weed, dedicated to “observing (Democrat) Al Weed as he goes on his lonesome trips around the 5th district, attracting few followers and spending his campaign monies frivolously.” Good stuff.

Right Roots

Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006
This is a great place to donate a little money, after you’ve given to George Allen: So, you want to give money to a good conservative candidate, but you are at a loss about who to support? A group of conservative bloggers has made it very easy. I teamed up with John Hawkins (who initiated the [...]

Goode is smoking Weed

Thursday, July 27th, 2006
I know, it’s an awful joke, but I can’t keep from using it. Fifth Congressional district Republican Virgil Goode leads his Dem challenger, Al Weed, by 24 points in the latest poll. I guess it’s a little closer than the margin by which Goode defeated Weed in 2004, but not much. This one is [...]

The Kellam Disaster

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006
NLS says that the 2nd Congressional district challenger, Democrat Phil Kellam, is running a worse campaign than Senate candidate James Webb. Wow, that’s saying something. (By the way, he’s right. Kellam is a complete disaster.)

Reminds me of Phil Kellam

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006
This clip reminds me of Democrat Phil Kellam, the challenger in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional district. He says a lot without saying much of anything:

Thelma Drake and Phil Kellam debate

Monday, July 24th, 2006
In the 2nd Congressional district, Republican incumbent Thelma Drake and Dem challenger Phil Kellam debated this weekend. As expected, Bearing Drift has a full report, including a podcast of the entire debate. This is where political junkies are greatly benefited by “citizen journalism.” Good work, BD.

2nd CD

Phil Kellam, Dem candidate in the 2nd Congressional district, biting the hand that feeds him.

DCCC pulls down offensive ad

Sunday, July 16th, 2006
The Dems have chosen to pull the offensive ad I mentioned earlier. This after two Democrats, including Rep. John Spratt of SC, demanded it. HRConservative has some thoughts.

Absolutely disgusting

Thursday, July 13th, 2006
I’m disgusted by this, but unfortunately, I’m not suprised. The Democrats are using dead soldiers to raise money: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has a new fundraising pitch going out. It uses September 11th and our troops to raise money. But, instead of using those images to show Democrats would be tougher on terrorists and [...]

Virgil Goode vs. Al Weed

Thursday, July 13th, 2006
Don Surber, on the race in the 5th Congressional district: “The poll said the opposite of that. Voters don’t want change. In a district that leans Democrat by 11 points, Democrat Weed is down 14 points. That’s a remarkable feat of incompetence, even for a liberal.” Heh.

Another Dem frustrated by Phil Kellam

Thursday, July 13th, 2006
Man, are the Dems on the verge of abandoning Phil Kellam entirely? Maybe not, but it is starting to seem like it: I was pleasantly surprised to see this outspoken audience member get support from the majority of the attendees and hear Kellam referred to as Thelma Drake Lite. These Kellam positions are not popular [...]
