Heh.
UPDATE: I see also that Bearing Drift has uncovered Phil Kellam’s secret campaign plan in his 2nd Congressional district race against Republican Thelma Drake.

As always, Bearing Drift is following the race in the 2nd Congressional district very closely. Keep an eye on BD as the campaign between Republican Thelma Drake and Dem Phil Kellem begins to heat up.
CD2 podcast

Bearing Drift has up another excellent podcast of the candidates forum between Phil Kellam (D) and Rep. Thelma Drake (R-2nd) held Saturday in Virginia Beach. Great work, yet again.
Bill Carrico for Congress
Saturday, June 10th, 2006
I see that Del. Bill Carrico, the GOP nominee in the Fightin’ Ninth congressional district, has unveiled a shiny new website. Here’s hoping his campaign looks as good as the new site; his Democratic incumbent opponent, Rick Boucher, poses a formidable challenge.
Frankly, I haven’t seen much of Carrico on the campaign trail yet, so [...]
Phil Kellam taking some more heat
Thursday, June 8th, 2006
Bearing Drift has another excellent podcast up, this one about the race in the 2nd congressional district:
Tim Murtaugh, campaign manager for Thelma Drake, comes on a special edition of the ‘Drift podcast to discuss the Phil Kellam campaign, its alignment with MoveOn.org, the integrity issue, and the type of campaign Thelma Drake will run.
In the [...]
Dems turning on Kellam in the 2nd
Tuesday, June 6th, 2006
Republican incumbent Rep. Thelma Drake seems to have gotten very lucky in her race to retain her 2nd Congressional district seat. Democrat Phil Kellam, while a well-known figure in 2nd CD politics, has run a terrible campaign thus far, by almost everyone’s account.
Now, the Dems are starting to turn on Kellam. That’s good [...]
9th District GOP Convention
Saturday, May 13th, 2006
As I mentioned yesterday, I spent much of today in Wytheville at the 9th District GOP Convention. It was a good event, nice turnout, lots of good people. Always a fun time meeting up with my fellow Fightin' Ninth Republicans.
Adam Tolbert -- whom I met for the first time today -- has the [...]
Phil Kellam: the right candidate for Pennsylvania’s 2nd district
Tuesday, May 9th, 2006
Obviously, I'm a big supporter of Thelma Drake's re-election campaign in Virginia's 2nd congressional district.
It appears that her opponent, Phil Kellam, wants to represent Pennsylvania in Congress rather than Virginia's 2nd. Take a look at this page from his website, which says, in part:
Our property-tax system is broken beyond repair. It is [...]
The smart route for the Dems
Tuesday, May 9th, 2006
GOP Hokie argues that it's a strategically sound decision not to run congressional candidates against some GOP incumbents:
If Harris Miller or Jim Webb is going to beat George Allen, they are going to do it in NOVA and Tidewater. They will need huge margins in those areas and need Allen to get small margins (and [...]
Thelma Drake has a campaign manager
Friday, May 5th, 2006
I haven't seen it mentioned in the media anywhere, but Rep. Thelma Drake has a new campaign manager for her re-election campaign in the 2nd Congressional district. It's none other than CC-favorite Tim Murtaugh, who was the press guru for Jerry Kilgore's gubernatorial campaign.
Drake will be in good hands. Murtaugh has a very [...]
More on the money race

I mentioned last night the fundraising totals in the US Senate race in Virginia. Riley has taken a look at the numbers for each of Virginia's congressional races. Some interesting numbers....
Where is Phil Kellam?
Tuesday, April 18th, 2006
I don't usually post these, but I thought this missive from the NRCC was interesting, in lieu of any real news lately on Virginia congressional races.

Around the Commonwealth
Monday, April 17th, 2006
I meant to link this last week: Congressional Quarterly has a look at all the House races around Virginia in 2006, as well as the Senate Race. It's a decent roundup article.
Tom Davis campaign kickoff
Saturday, March 4th, 2006
Sounds like the Tom Davis campaign kickoff event was a smashing success -- according to Too and Mason.

Bearing Drift's J.R. has good reporting and analysis of Vice-President Cheney's appearance in Tidewater yesterday.
