Okay, I screwed up my biggest prediction last year, so don’t wager on anything I’m saying here. Disclaimer aside, here’s how I see things playing out today.
–Sen. George Allen will pull his race out by the skin of his teeth. I say a three point Allen victory. Far closer than it should [...]
Senators George Allen and John Warner to address Commonwealth again
Monday, November 6th, 2006
I guess Sen. Allen’s campaign has been getting good feedback about the other two addresses, because they’re doing it again. Senator George Allen and Senator John Warner will be making a final statewide address on election eve.
Either way, it can’t be a bad idea to be seen next to Sen. Warner at this point [...]
Dream scenario
Friday, November 3rd, 2006
Yep, that’s a dream scenario, alright. I wouldn’t hold my breath, though.
Anyone surprised?

WashTimes:
The Big Three television networks have used unprecedented midterm election coverage to bash the Republican Party with negative stories, and plenty of them, a study says.
Only 12 percent of election stories that aired on NBC, ABC or CBS were favorable toward Republican candidates, according to a study released yesterday by the [...]

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006
Quote of the Day, from John Kerry’s attempt to throw the election to the GOP:
“I guess Kerry wasn’t content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too.”
Unnamed Democratic Congressman, commenting to ABC News on John Kerry’s “botched joke.”

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006
Boy, Harold Ford’s Senate campaign in Tennessee appears to be tanking (and we’ve been treated to some nasty ads in that race down here), but I can’t really argue with him here. I like football and girls, too.
(Yes, the girls I like the most are my lovely wife and beautiful daughter.)

Sen. George Allen is blogging on the front page of Redstate.com, saying “spending is the problem.” Indeed.

Maryland’s Senate race is uglier than ours
Wednesday, October 18th, 2006
Erick Erickson:
If there is one thing Democrats cannot tolerate, it is a black Republican. It insults Democrats at their very core to know a black person might actually vote for the party of the Great Emancipator and the party that passed the Civil Rights Act, despite filibusters from Democrats like Albert Gore, Sr.
For the past [...]

Mark has some predictions on how the Senate will look after Election Day, and picks in some of the individual races, including Virginia.
Take that, Teddy

I don’t often praise Congressman Chris Shays, but… This. Is. Awesome. From the Hartford Courant:
When the congressional page scandal broke last month, Democrats across the country saw a chance to lambaste Republican leadership - including Diane Farrell, who called on House Speaker Dennis Hastert to step down.
But when Sen. Edward M. Kennedy came to [...]

I know I said I wouldn’t say anything more about this, but I lied.
Mark Warner won’t run for President
Thursday, October 12th, 2006
Or so he says. Color me surprised.
The Hillary Train rumbles along….
UPDATE: Glenn Reynolds is disappointed. “I was actually hoping for a Warner/Giuliani race, as something that might defuse the polarization a bit.”
Not to belabor a point…

After my recent post about the congressional legislation banning online poker, a friend sent me this article:
Last Saturday the United States Congress passed a port security bill that carried an amendment banning Internet gambling. This was a huge mistake, not because Internet gambling is a good thing (it was already illegal, in fact), but because [...]
