Friday, June 9th, 2006Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee–Vision Statement
The Blacksburg Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee met on June 7th. Based upon discussions at that meeting, attached for Task Force review and comment is the draft Vision Statement and Guiding Principals for the Parks & Recreation Vision Plan. Â
The key question for the Task Force to answer by Friday, June 23rd,  is do the principals listed in this document compliment/supplement the key themes and principals of the 2006 Comprehensive Plan Update?  Do not worry about format at this time.  After the next Parks & Rec Advisory Committee meeting on July 5th, staff will begin to merge the 2001 Parks & Rec Comprehensive Plan Chapter Vision Plan with the Parks & Rec Vision Plan.  Do you see any potential complications with merging these two documents?   A revised draft 2006 Parks & Rec Chapter will be posted later this summer for further review by the Task Force.Â
